Help HELP connecting to my Prius

I'm not much of a techie...I need help connecting my phone to my car so I can answer calls hands free.
So far I've made it to the step where the car scans for my phone but it doesn't find it.
Also it says I have a code for my phone...but how do I use this code?
I apologize in advance for my lack of skills.

Go into settings, Bluetooth, then tick the box to make your device temporarily visible.
Then on your car stereo, go into its phone/bt menu to add/scan/search
Your s4 will sound a notification and you enter the code shown on the car stereo.
Once entered, the s4 gives your the option to download your contacts to the car.
After this you will be permanently paired and as long as you keep bt on on your handset, it will automatically connect each time you enter your car
