Root help customizing a ROM

So, i am running admired monster 4, and i want to change my boot animation but i don't want to mess the phone.

i went to /system/media and i found the boot animation.zip and more files that i think are related.

so, what i am thinking is in just change the bootanimation.zip for other bootanimation.zip that i want, is that right or i need more files ?

and also i want to change my shutdown animation and i found this:

and for my shutdown animation can i take a custom animation like the one from galaxy nexus and just replace it ?

Yes you can change it but make sure its the right resolution .... And no you dont need any more files .... To change the boot animation just change the bootanimation.zip with the one you want.... Just make sure its the right resolution 320x420

you can change the shutdown to anything you want it to be...just make sure that the name of each png matches exactly!!!!!! exact uppercase and lowercase and underscore.......EXACTLY!!... otherwise it won't shut down...the shutdown can be up to 100 or 200 images i think..but thats alot for a shutdown...its not hard to do just annoying when renaming...but you must also ensure that the permissions match the original permissions that are currently set.
There is actually a thread for this in the Rom Gathering thats stickied up top. It was started by me and has any custom files needed for bootanimations and tells what to do with the rest of the undeeded files in your media folder. Good luck and post with questions if needed.
