Help help, data corruption while trasferring

dohyun ryu

Lurker
I mounted usb in my galaxy note 5 and I transferred my vacation pics into USB.

I used es file explorer app to transfer my data.

When usb hitted the size limit, it froze so I pulled out and putted back in, entire data has gone!

Size is still full in usb but i can't find my data. it's not deleted. i tried show hidden files but i couldn't find anything. also tried various data recovery program Recuva but i got no result

you can try it by yourself. it happens all the time. transfer more size than usb size (you can try transferring 2% of usb the size while usb contained 99% of the size) It happens when it exceed the size during transfer.

ANY SOLUTIONS? I REALLY NEED IT BACK.
i have pic of my usb. those 1kb no extention file name is not created by me.

Never move files that cannot fit on your destination device. Copy files would have been the best option.
Good luck retrieving what was lost because of this.

All I can recommend is trying some different file recovery tools, in the hope that one will be able to find (most of) the files.

And as Danny says, the safe thing to do is copy. Once you are sure the copy worked you can delete the originals if you want, but I never use move for things like this.
