Help: Desire HD OTA update question

Hey folks. So I understand there has been an OTA released for Desire HD and some other HTC phones, Android 2.3.5 /w Sense 3.0. Been a while now since it got out and I still haven't received the update, while some of my friends who have bought their Desire HD's just a few days ago already updated. I bough mine 4 months ago fyi. I sent mail to HTC Support and got no viable answer other then some standard crap they usually send to everyone about everything.

My question is, is there an official OTA available for download ANYWHERE?? I don't want to root my phone since I bricked a few before DHD and am obviously followed by bad luck when it comes to phones. Any information about this is welcomed.

so.. you are unbranded.. I never owned an unbranded phone, so i dont have much experience/knowledge on how that affects things... especially with rooting and ROMS.

your friends that have the updates.. are branded??? :confused:
Branded phones are backed by the carriers.. they spend $$ to get updates customized for the branded phones on their network and tested.. then pushed to clients that have branded phones.

maybe... you got to bite the bullet... and root.

Nah, their DHD's are unbranded as well and yet they upgraded to 2.3.5 moments after setting up. That's why this has been bugging me. So if you know any place where I can just download the OTA and upgrade my self that would be great.
