I have the same problem with my Galaxy S, I have called Samsung this morning and they are calling me back. Watch this space.......

You might want to check forums specific to your device to see if it's a device issue rather than just assuming that it's Android.

i have been searching for the answer to this problem for a few weeks now. Wifi not on, go to turn it on, "unable to scan for networks", turns off...
i scoured forums trying to find the fix to this.
tonight, finally, my problem is solved. i realize this may not fix a fraction of everyone's problems and that a lot of ppl probably don't even have this app, but what solved it for me was uninstalling Juice Defender. can't believe it was that simple. my wifi has stayed on, has recognized new networks, has recognized remembered networks. so at least try messing w/ your settings or newly installed apps.

I had the same problem with a Samsung Galaxy S Wifi after installing the WEfi app. unfortunately the only solution was to backup, then factory reset then re-install the apps that I really wanted. Wifi has worked since so definitely was the Wefi app. hope this helps.
