Help Downgrading and rooting Galaxy S5 Active? (SM-G870A)

Hello! I I'm new to rooting and don't exactly know much more than just the basics. I know that I have to use Odin to downgrade the software first but I can't seem to make it work. Also, I dont really know what to do after that. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 Active SM-G870A version 5.1.1
I'm using Odin 3.10.7 trying to Downgrade to 4.4.2 but am getting a message that says

Complete(Write) operation failed
All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)

Does anybody know what is causing this and how to fix it? Thank you in advance!

Once the 870a had been updated to 5.0 OF2 or higher, you cannot downgrade and last time I checked, still no working root method for 5.0 or higher.
Sorry for the bad news.

I still have one that I'm holding on to that was on 4.4.2 when I got it and I was able to root and update to 5.0 and keep root.
Locked bootloaders on AT&T Samsung devices and the fact that AT&T doesn't release their firmware makes things difficult and developers lose interest. Main reason I'll never buy a carrier branded phone again.
