Help HELP! Flashing other Stock ROM on Chinese Galaxy Note 3 GM-N9005

Hi all,

I have a chinese version of the Note 3 GM-N9005 but I could not flash it with any other stock ROM (such as the International version). It only accepts the Chinese ROM.

Does anyone know I am doing wrong here?

GM-N9005 should be an international model, however what's the baseband version, this is important, also how are you trying to change the ROM, Kies, Odin, or something else?

I was using Odin to flash it with other stock ROMs and all failed until I tried the Chinese ROM from SAMMOBILE. It has a cracked LCD so I can tell what baseband it has.

GM-N9005 should be an international Qualcomm Snapdragon version with LTE. But there might be a China version with the same model number, and there's also a GM-N9006, which is definitely a China version, that has TD modes for China Mobile.

If it's only accepting a Chinese ROM via Odin, then it's likely a specific baseband in it for China. But if the screen is busted, does it matter what ROM you put in it?

It took in N9005 Chinese ROM and the back sticker had Chinese text on it. I was checking to see whether it could flash other ROMs before I buy a new LCD screen for it as it is quite expensive ~120USD.

Does anyone know if I can flash a custom ROM over the Chinese ROM?
