[Help] Flashing with new CWM recovery

Hi guys,

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I was using android 4.3.1 (Jellybam rom) and all was fine for 8 months. Suddenly my phone starts being slow and I decide to upgrade the android to 4.4.2. But as Jellybam suggested that I need to have 4.4 first i.e. cm11. So there is no official cm11 for S2 yet and I flashed mine with unofficial cm11. Now the phone works all fine and stuff and the rom of course has hell lot of bugs. But I do not have any Google apps (gapps). I downloaded it and transferred it to my phones internal SD card and then tried to flash it with CWM recovery, it doesn't detect any data in my SD card. All I see is cynogenmod/, 0/, obb/.

Well then I downloaded the ROM manager and tried to flash the gapps from there. Phone restarts in recovery mode (its different recovery mode than what I got with the rom) and from there it says it cannot mount the SD card. Also I have enabled the USB debugging mode and tried to do with ODIN. My phone is not detected by any of my windows machines. It does charge the phone though. Now I'm stuck with a phone with no gapps and a useless rom. Need help.

Thanks a lot.

Got the USB working and now the phone is Soft bricked. NAND Write Start!! Complete(Write) operation failed. This is what I am getting now when I'm trying to flash with the stock SGS2 rom. Anything will be appreciated.

You will need to download and flash, via Odin, the stock Samsung firmware for your phone's model version and CSC code by following the instructions in #1.7 of the Jelly Bean update - Dummies Guide.

You will then need to re-root your phone again and perhaps flash a more stable ROM, such as NEAT ROM 4.4.2 for the GT-i9100, if this is indeed your model of S2.

Yeah the phone is in soft bricked now. I was planning to follow these steps: [GUIDE] Fix an unflashable or soft bricked GSII (I9100G/M/P/T VERSION INCLUDED) - xda-developers but since my phone was on 4.4 will this work?

That is suggesting that you download and flash the stock firmware via Odin for your phone...which is what I have just said.

Here is the latest, unbranded, stock Samsung firmware for India...

Yeah I know. I've tried to flash the stock but I'm getting NAND write start operation failed error. I'll give this a try and let you know. Thanks.

Wow! That definitely worked! Thanks a a lot!! My phone is back up and running. So here is what I'm going to do now, root it, flash it with the ROM you mentioned above and start playing Hayday again. ^_^
