Help for Samsung Kies?

I've been transferring vids from my PC to my phone via Kies a lot and all of them were successful, but now when I try to transfer, it says that "Your version of MYFREECODEC is not up to date" or something along that line and requires me to (re)install it (although Im sure I already have it) so i install it then try to transfer again, but again it prompts me with the same message, so basically the cycle repeats itself and I decided to ask for some help here.

What's causing this?

I am not well versed in KIES yet I am sure I will when I get my new device on Wednesday, but you can try a different app to do this, I use WiFi File Transfer it has served me well with no issues and takes seconds to use, cheers.

I have heard of issues with Kies and therefore I do not use it but can you just drag the videos from your device to the computer?
What device/carrier do you have?
