Help HELP g1 Brick/CRASH

Ive downloaded cyangoen 1.4 onto my g1. Then when i put it into recovery mode and tried to install hero it says set_perm 1014 2000 0550. (I set the install unknown sources button perviously).It only turns onto recovery mode and my computer says that the phone has malfunctioned and that the sd card cannot be read. Ive tried the data wipe and fix ext file sys. The phone is frozen at the t mobile g1 boot screen. Any help would be very appreciated.

Give us the link to the procedure you were using ... ???

Which radio did you install and did you install it before the spl ?

i just downloaded the package app. pressed the download button and flashed then it said that sys error, and its bricked.

Sorry, I am not familiar with that method ... maybe there is help from the video or some other users that have used it ...

Google is sending me a new one but is there a way that i can permanently brick it so my phone dosent get sent back?
OR
can i download the original g1 rom and rename it update.zip and apply that?
if so where can i find the original rom?

Lol i have no idea what partition and all of this stuff is. remeber i cant get into my phone just can add stuff to my SD card and use cyanogen to install.

Possibly ... but others might have first hand expierence with this issue.
