Help Help: Galaxy Mini S5570

This is my first smartphone and so far I'm loving it - only problem I have is with call quality. Both incoming and outgoing call quality is very bad and frequently the person at the other end can here me but I can here nothing. Is this a common problem with this phone? Are there any setting etc. that I could change to improve this? Tks.

Silly question but have you got the "In call volume" set high enough? You might have held the phone in such a way as inadvertently to have pressed the control to turn the volume down.

Thanks for your reply & no that's not a silly question - that would be entirely possible for me!!!

I have checked that though and it's not the issue as the volume is turned up to the loudest. When the volume is lower there is less distortion on the line but it's very difficult to hear anything as caller's voice is too low & it has happened when volume is up and down that the line just seems to go dead on my side and I can hear nothing but the person on the other end can still hear me. It's strange and frustrating because I love this phone in every other way but the call quality is seriously bad

If you bought it locally, can you take it back to the supplier to have them check it out?
