Help getting rid gray box

Gray box has promotion in to. When messaging I get taken to a ad and have to close it to get back to my message. Screen looks like its scanning and when on the phone both lines hear a weird beeping sound. Not sure what to do.
 
what is gray box? is it an app?

i would put the phone in safe mode and see if you have the same issue. safe mode only temporarily puts the phone back to a factory state. it won't allow any 3rd party apps to run. if nothing happens then you will need to uninstall some apps until you find the culprit.
 
Are you using a third party messaging app? If so it's probably built into that app, so uninstalling that one and using stock or another third party app without apps would solve the problem.
