[Help] Google Calendar and Google Now

My wife and I both use our own separate Google calendars to schedule or lives and share them with so we can each see what the other has going on.

What I would like to figure out is how I can see both calendars but ONLY receive notifications from calendar app and Google Now from my calendar.

In order to have hers visible I have to set it to sync, but this gives me notifications for her appointments as well. I had tried to everything I can think of so I'm hoping someone knows what I'm missing or what I need to do.

I honestly don't know if this is possible, i was looking at the settings for my Calendar and it doesn't seem like there is an option to disable notifications for one account...

So unless you start looking at different calendar apps, i think you are out of luck, sorry

Definitely possible.
My girlfriend and I share calendars but I never receive her notifications or Google Now prompts for her appointments.

OP:
Are you using separate accounts?
Do you show up as attendee on her appointments?
Edit: if I look at her appointments on my phone I have the option to add a reminder but none currently exists in my view of it.

I had a similar problem, where I wanted alerts for my Google calender, but not my Exchange/work calendar.

I couldn't find a way to do it natively, but I did find an app to do it for me. Try "Calendar Snooze." You can set your alert notifications individually for each calendar.

I've tried having it set up using my account since I have aces to the calendar from my account. Currently I have her account added to my phone. If I change the notifications will that change then on her iPhone as well since her calendar syncs there.

That's the cause right there.

Share calendars with each other through the sharing facility on the web calendar, don't add the account to your phone.

You can do this through logging into Google Calendar on your PC and following the steps on the website.

I have it shared and tried it that way as well... same results. Can't choose which calendars you get notifications for...

So you've tried sharing via the web interface and without her account added on your phone you can sync her calendar (which is now only listed under your Gmail account in the sync settings) and you still get notifications?

I've been doing it this way for about 3 to 4 years and have never had this issue.

EDIT: note that this method should simply give you viewing rights to her calendar under your account and has no impact on which calendars you can set to receive notifications for (you just don't get them for a shared calendar afaik).

Did you read my suggestion? The Calendar Snooze app will let you do this.
