Hello, i just bought a broken dont turn on Samsung galaxy S3 for $30. after a few hours of working on it i got it working great. one problem, theirs no USB/CHARGER port. is there anyway to root it over wifi/Bluetooth or am i just out of luck

THANKS!!!

That's great, that you were able to fix your phone.

You will get better answers to your problem if you post your questions in your specific device all things root subforum where people have the same device that you have.

Sorry i don't know more about your device, but i rooted mine without a computer using an app, but every phone is different.
Good luck.

Moved to the S3 forums.
Welcome natasatan420!

You say there is not usb/charging port???? Is it a genuine S3? Based on the fact there is no usb/charging port, I'm thinking it's not a S3???
Perhaps I am misunderstanding your post, sorry :)

O there was a port but the person I bough it from I guess tried to fix it. Looked like they tried to re-solder it then just ripped it out.

Oh, I see :)

Without that port, as far as rooting, you will need that to communicate with ODIN on the computer.
I have heard of mobile ODIN, but I am not familiar enough with it to say that would work.
Mobile ODIN is an app you can install on the device, but like I said, I can't verify whether or not that would work to root it:(

What carrier are you with?

no sorry usb port is needed to access the gs3 logic board to root, would not recommend mobile odin as is very buggy in my opinion and may end up ruining your phone. best thing to do is try to solder a new usb port not hard if you have experience soldering two small components I've done it my self on several phones before or just take it to your local cellphone repair shop good luck

I actually bought mobile odin back in my nooby days for some reason n never used it lol. Once id rooted (using pc) i never had need for it. Aparently its good for flashing kernel tar files though if you arent near (or like me, hate using) a pc

Looks like you have to disassemble it! Then I think solder a USB port, or buy the part and attach it. :)

Just look up some GS3 disassemble videos on YouTube. I hope you didn't buy a generic fake S3. That would suck.

Good luck! :)
