Help help - how do you manage files on SD - delete/move?

UPDATE - this appears to be a known - issue -

with Android 4.4 KitKat, a change in the way the operating system gives read and write permissions to apps has caused a bit of a brouhaha among Android users. ... the ability of third-party apps to freely write to SD card has been crippled.

this is insane

how could they change such fundamental and critical functionality without giving us an option!?

I paid $$ for my phone due to this functionality - to use my SD card in it ..

============================================

all the NON ROOTED users - is there any solution?

my initial post:

when I try to delete SOME files from SD card using

native File Manager - it says "failed to delete"

ES File explorer - it says "cannot be deleted"

reboot to no avail

and even if I manage it via USB using a PC - it says - "storage is write-protected"

only solution is to take out the card physically put it into an adapter and into a PC to manage it :/

I think I was able to do it ..

till some update :/

please help ..

how do you do it?

how can it be done?

thank you ..

I am on SM-N900 not rooted
4.4.2

In app drawer you got Samsung.. with some apps.. like Internet, Calculator, Downloads, S translator or so. There is also an app called My files or similar.. Just open All.. navigate.. move, delete.. its a powerful file explorer with all rights in your system.

Hope this help you
