Hey all,
I am having HTC Wildfire S A510b and i m a newbie.. how can I upgrade my HTC from gingerbread 2.3.5 to ICS? How do i have to root my device with S-ON and then upgrade to ICS? How to make a backup?
I have seen many forums explaining this but they were mainly for A510e.. so didnt do it.
Please help me out,
Thanks

Welcome to Android Forums :hello:

The rooting procedure for the A510E/B is the same:
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/480954-guide-how-root-wildfire-s-s.html

The only difference between the E & B is radio frequency and flashing a custom ROM shouldn't involve flashing a radio. So custom ROMs for A510E/Marvel should work.

*** As soon as you install cwm or twrp recovery, make sure you do a nandroid backup. When you go into recovery you will see how. Make sure that you don't lose your backup. It's A good idea to copy it to your computer when it's done. Only then install the custom ROM. ***

As for ICS, there is no official ROM from HTC, only custom ROMs. See the list below of what is available:

As always, you root and flash custom ROMs at your own risk so do work carefully ;)
