[HELP] Huawei Watch Not Responding

Today, I woke up to my new Huawei Watch not responding when I pressed the button. So I plugged it in, waited about an hour, then came back. It said that the battery was almost fully charged. So I took the watch off, and it the screen went blank. No response or anything. I put it back on the charger, then immediately it started booting up again. Took it off, and it went blank again. Tried factory resetting it, and it didn't work. Any help?

Yes, and It's the weirdest thing considering I've only had it since the 25th.
Hmm, bear with me here sorry, but I'm just learning also (I just got mine on the 25th :) )

I'm wondering...there is a setting either on the watch or the Android wear app where you can enable or disable wrist activation (or whatever it's called).
Can you toggle that off, then on again?
I'm going to fire mine up and look to see exactly where I saw that setting :)

Hmm, I looked through the settings on the watch, and the app and can't find that setting. Knowing myself, I'm probably overlooking it lol

If you take it off the charge and it goes blank and then when you put it back on it goes through a full boot, it's most likely a faulty battery. You need to replace it. :(
That's what I didn't want to be the case :( Also, I just noticed that every time I restart it, or take it off the charger and put it back on, the % of battery changes...

It's in the "settings" on the watch..scroll down to "wrist gestures" but based on input from @mikedt and @lunatic59, and your additional info, I would agree about the possibility of a defective device :(

Edit: I'm tinkering with mine and the "screen lock" bit to see if that could be an issue:)

Yeah, I just turned it off, did a reset, and it's still doing it. I'll have to call best buy for a replacement one. Thanks for the help though. Really appreciate it! :)

If I were to surmise what happened, since these devices are powered by Li-Ion batteries, it's entirely plausible that the battery was fine during QC but it's shelf time was just enough to allow the battery to fully discharge which can render some, if not all of the cells inert. I see an episode of Mythbusters here.
