Anto14

Lurker
Yesterday i was traing to mod my phone and i have done the root, downloaded all that i need for modding as: new rom, drivers, gapp etc. but i forgot to put the new rom in sdmemory of my phone, so now i can put it in any mod, fastboot, flashboot mode, but i can't turn on beacuse there isn't rom installed in, what can i do???
I have a Sony Xperia S phone.

Sorry for my English.

Can you get into recovery? If yes, did you take a backup before you started messing around with things? If yes, just restore that and you should be good to go.

If no, you'll probably need to flash an FTF file with Flasthool: http://www.flashtool.net/index.php

Do you know what software version you were on before you started messing about with things?

This came in via a report:

unluckily i don't have done backup, and i have already installed android kitkat 4.4, i have already done one time all this step, but yesterday have repeat all, but i have forgot to put the rom on my phone

@Anto14 , the reply button is the last one on the right. :)

You don't need a ROM on your phone/SD Card to use flashtool, it's all done via your PC. I take it you've unlocked your bootloader?

Ok, cool. Was 4.4 ever officially released for the Experia S, or were you using a custom ROM before? I'm guessing the former, but just want to check.

Can you give me the link you followed to install Cyanogen please?

Unless you have an SD Card reader for the PC, we're going to need to return your device completely to stock and you'll need to start the root/install ROM process again.

Hit the google drive download link and download the ftf file

Head to the Flashtool page and download & install flashtool: http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php

Place the ftf file in the flashtool firmware folder and flash as per this video:

Alternatively, Sony provide their own flashtool for returning to stock. You can find the download and instructions for that here: http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/use-the-flash-tool-for-xperia-devices/

Sony's method is probably safer at this point.
