Root !HELP I think i did something Stupid!!!!!!

Well i dont have an actual app that request something every 10 min, but man i just got fed up.. and went to Settings + Security + Factory Reset.. BAM..

Its reset and now its fine.. gosh its been like the 4th time i reset this phone..

I think i know what happened, before you told me to remove rom manager, i actually did run it and in a video i was told to run secure something and i em suppose to select my phones model from rom manager list, well the only model there was Samsung i9000 and i clicked it..... the phones tried to do a rom back up was not able to do so..

I just read that i could have bricked my phone.. not suppose to run other phones settings... is that true??? (No wonder you told me to remove it)..

Any how now its okay.. the root i think has nothing to do with it.. I think it was that ron manager..

You know what i em just going to leave it how it is, i might root it again, (now i know how) but this time i will not install rom manager ...

Hey do you know how i can remove all the stock apps that come with my phone? man they use RAM and Internet.. dont need them (hate them)????

Once rooted you'll be able to remove stock apps. Let me offer a word of caution. Many apps provide services for other parts of the OS and if you remove them, you can disable certain features or make your phone unusable. More importantly, system apps are not easily restorable like simply installing an .apk file. And once deleted, even a factory reset will not recover them. You will have to locate and flash a stock rom image to get them back. If you plan on rooting and deleting those apps, please check back here first before you do anything so we can make sure it's safe for you to delete those without any negative impact to your phone.

The safer alternative is to use use Titanium Backup to "freeze" the apps in question and they will no longer run. After you are sure that freezing them does not effect your phone's operation, you can go ahead and delete them.

Well my phone as you know jejeej is a Samsung Galaxy S Advance I9070 from Mexico under the carrier TELCEL..

It has the following icons that i dont want..(or apps)..

--Social Hub = I imagine this gets all the info from facebook, tweeter and stuff like that dont want it or need it i already have the facebook icon..
--Music Hub: Dont know..
--Talk: (Dont know what that is )
-- Latitude: Dont know but i want to use GPS software one called Route 66 is pretty darn good..
--Navigation:
--Voice Talk
--Voice Search
--"Samsung Apps" this i hate the most this one does use lots of resources
--news and weather.
--Google +
--Red icon called messenger..
--Polaris office.
--Game Hub shortcut to my carries website to buy games..

These are the ones i would like to remove.. maybe there nice i dont know its the first time i have a Android maybe i dont even know how to use them..

any how do you think these are important?

Wow...

Hey guess what.. so remember that i told you it was working fine and then some how it would wake up..

Well i ended up doing a factory reset and that solved the issue.. well i thought the issue was related to ROM MANAGER.. since i tried to back up my ROM and i ran a software created for the a Samsung I9000 and mine is GT I9070.. So i thought that was the issue.. right..

So i did a factory reset and then problem solved, well i did this at work so i got home and i did the root again, all okay i installed superuser or what ever and i got root access.. so then i said fine no back up, i installed my apps, and personalized the phone you know i added, music, couple of free aps, and i did change the ringtone thats it..

Now its doing that again.. the phone is waking up on its own every 10 min.. Why?

I followed these instructions..

[HOW TO] Samsung Galaxy S I9070 Advance ROOT for most firmwares! - xda-developers

Could it be that the firmware is bad?, when i restore my phone that does not happen? Maybe this phone is tricky and its ment not be rooted?..

What do you think..?? and ideas?

I doubt it's related to the firmware or root. It's most likely one of the apps you installed. Could you list them?

Hi there, i am new in this forum, i want to delete some bloodware on my S Advance, i want to root it but and I've read the tutorial how i have to do it, just 1 problem, i need the XXLD2.tar.md5 file, i have searched it everywhere but couldn't find it, can anybody help me with this please?
I would be gratefull !!

Sir my S advance has 2.3.6 gingerbread. What's the difference between 2.3.6 and the tutorial how to update s advance manually? I just can't understand the difference and why do they have to put a tutorial if it can update from the phone itself using wifi? Confused :(

It looks like three same update. The manual installation would be for those who can't get it OTA.

But i've read the comments and it was mentioned that due to its update the zoom on camera will be available. What do you think?

I would run the OTA update and then see if it shows that you have version XXLE2. If it does then its the same thing and there would be no need to flash the update manually.
