You're most likely rooted on stock ICS and did not unlock the bootloader before trying to install CWM recovery, or you deleted your boot partition on accident. Either way, the easiest fix is the LG recovery tool.
You'll need to force it into download mode in order for the tool to pick up the phone, at this point.
"Reboot your phone in "Download Mode" (re-insert your battery and replace the back plate. Hold down vol up + vol down. Plug in usb cable while holding both buttons.)"
On the odd chance you were on a custom ROM at the time you got this error, lets me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
