Yea it work's, I got mine threw the same source, was gonna post in the morning but Zenwafer beat me to it, I was helping sckboy update, can't wait to see jbs on jb, (just minus s voice)

How can I get cwmr back with out using a computer??? On 4.1.2

I don't believe you can...

Here's the weird thing - I didn't use stock recovery to update from ICS to JB.

CWM worked just fine, though a prompt did pop up saying something about not being able to verify part of the update and I just let it know to go on and update anyways and it went through. Even asked if I wanted to keep root before rebooting system :D

I know it doesn't help you now, but when I took the update i flashed it via cwm. When i selected reboot if have me the option to 'disable recovery flash'.. I said yes, and cwm stayed... But unfortunately, if it's already gone, Odin is the only way.

Edit- i didn't get the 'keep root' prompt

Have you tried getting it through Rom Manager? I never have used it as it was a big no no for my old phone and I got used to Odin so I didn't even think to suggest it...

Here's the rub - I actually wanted stock recovery back to make sure I could update so when CWM prompted me with the disable option I elected to not disable. But after my phone got the OTA and I rebooted for it to install, there was CWM staring back at me... So I figured "Hell, I've got this far why stop now?" and it worked.

As for the keeping root prompt, which CWM are you using, touch or non-touch? I'm non-touch myself

It says md5 mismatch

Odd...

Did you rename anything?

Are you certain you moved the correct folder to your phone?

Which program did you use to unzip it?

Do you use CWM Touch or non?

I'm just throwing out suggestions as it seems there are others who have had success with it and I would really like for this to work for everyone who wants it.

Has anyone else run into a mismatch?

Edit - I just downloaded from my link, unzipped with 7zip, moved whole folder to my backup location on my removable (read: External) sdcard and restored it all with no problems.

I used Zens backup and everything works fine im on Jelly bean right now :) By the way if your having troubles extracting use Root hrowser becuase with other file managers it wasnt letting me extract so yeah thanks Zen

What does it say under build number? I know that the update patches amss (i assume baseband) I'm just wondering if this method will prevent future updates

Nevermind, I used Rom Manager to install cwmr, works great

Now we need a stock jb Rom

I'm to deep in the system to do a backup right now, working on a Rom

If someone can, plz uplaod a cwmr backup so I can keep working, If I mess up or get a loop I'm trouble

I had it when I flashed, but picked the wrong setting at the end of the install process, now I have root with no recovery  where would I look for it on one the device, and can't I just swap it out with terminal emulator if I can get a copy from someone with recovery on jb

I used Zen's CWM BackUp and it worked just fine. The only thing that is a little off is that it still says MB3?????? But that doesn't bother me one bit. I'm just so psyched that I have JellyBean Eff-Yeah!!! :thrasher:

Well, to each their own. I know cwm backups don't include the radio/baseband... But as long as everything is working correctly... That's all that matters. I guess time will tell with the next ota.
