HELP! MapDroyd maps are GREY

I have installed MapDroyd on my new Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7 and used it to install maps for England and for Morocco. When I start MapDroyd if finds a very rudimentary map of my area which is plain grey with towns shown as small circles but nothing else. How do I get the detail? And how do I switch to the Morocco map? GPS works fine and marks my position on the grey map.

Please help! :(

Problem PARTIALLY solved.
I unindtalled and reinstalled MapDroyd and I think that I must have msde a better job of downloading the maps because it went straight to my UK location. However, I don't have any icons at top of screen and scale is at top. I got to Morocco map by zooming out, panning and zooming in again.
Any advice welcome!

Maybe you might try another navigation app.
The free app OsmAnd has vectored maps (like MapDroyd), pre-loaded on the phone for offline use.
