Help me achieve my dream

VPALLARI

Lurker
Im goin all samsung/android for christmas!! Here is what i have

1) Current 47 inch Sammy Smart
2) New 55 inch Sammy Smart
3) 3 new Tab 2 7.0 for the kids
4) 1 new Galaxy S3 for me :)

Ive already ripped a few of my DVDs to my Old dell dimension with Intel 2.8ghz single core (this will be next years upgrade). I have a linksys G router. My movies actually stream pretty well to the TV.

However, Ive already noticed with AllShare from my 3gs to my TV is real slow. Play for 2 secs, buffer for 8 secs. My guess is I need to upgrade the router. Im assuming ill have the same issues when I put up the new TV and Tab 2.0s for christmas.

The dream is for the kids to be able to stream movies to their tab over my wireless while home and/or copy them to a 32 gig SD for travel

So my questions are this
1) N or AC router suggestions for this setup. brand and model.
2) Best format to rip my DVDs in using handbrake and either serviio/allshare to serve them up

Thanks for the response. Sorry for the late reply, but with christmas coming, i havent had a lot of time. So thanks again.

1) Router - Ive talked to others and IM going to hold of on upgrading the router for now. I think my biggest issue is the lack of a dual or quad core computer
2) This is the one that is most crutial for me. I just saw this:
Leawo - DVD to Galaxy Tab 7" anyone have any input on this product?
here is the link:
DVD to Galaxy Tab 2 Converter - Convert DVD to MP4 for Galaxy Tab 2 with ease

I don't have any experience with the Leawo software, but I've been using Handbrake ( HandBrake ) for years with great success. It's easy to use and has great community support. There is a preset conversion: Android (High) that should work well with all of your devices.

Using iPhone or iPad settings in Handbrake tend to work well for Android devices.

.mp4 using h264 and some kind of 2 channel AAC should work for most stuff.

seems you have pretty latest android devices :)
hence dont worry about the quality ... Even if you do the rip in the full HD no probs ;)
but i doubt dvd has full HD content .... xD
hence just go with the highest settings you love just what maters for u is to worry about the size of higher quality of rips ....
