Help me buy an Android!!

Hi.

I am new to the world of android. I checked my friends android and I'm impressed!! So I wanna go in for an android too!!

First off, allow to say I'm a lifelong Nokia(Am I allowed to say that?) user. This will be first android. There are ridiculously simple things that HAVE to be present in the phone.
Here they are :

1) It should be durable enough to survive the accidental fall here and there. I'm not going to go windsurfing with my android, but still.

2) It's gotta have a kickass camera. I shoot a lot of videos and take a lot of pics. I also would like a camera that doesn't make the ' click ' sound when taking pictures.

3) Flight mode, conference call, email, facebook, etc.

4) A battery that lasts at least an entire day with average use - say an hour or two on the phone, couple of games, some emails, some music, etc.

5) And finally something that doesn't require an Einstein level of intelligence to operate.

I'd appreciate your opinions and suggestions.

Thanks.

1) Well most of these phones can be pretty delicate tbh. its recomended u get the insurance with them if u can (usualy its like 8$ a month but think if u dropped ur phone and it shattered, u be spending 500$+ for a new one.

3) All the androids i know have this.

4) You should be able to get a day out of most phones with moderate use. i keep my phone charger next to my bed and keep it charged all night then when i wake up i take it with me and it stays with me til i go to bed at night when i charge it.

5) Android is very user friendly :)

Also depends which carrier u want. from what i heard t-mobile is the most android friendly carrier (they were the ones to get teh first android phone i believe, G1)

also depends what your budget is, but most people here seem to like the Nexus series phones the best because they arent bloated with crapware, they have all the latest features, and since its made directly by google they are always due for the latest android updates :)

but from what i hear a new "Nexus Prime" is coming out soon so you might want to wait

The great thing about Android is the variety of handsets and their various features. I believe you will find a number of phones that meet your criteria to choose from. Have fun shopping for that perfect phone.

HTC Incredible S is a great phone. A mate of mine has one and he is continually dropping it! Its got a great screen and its easy to use (as the majority are).

The HTC range are fantastic. The battery can be poor in some of them but there are some apps out there to help you overcome that such as Juice Defender.

Best thing to do is pull up the HTC website and compare what is there to the carriers you have available to you. Then get on youtube and watch some reviews from different people, a few for each phone. By the end ull probably have a winner due to A) Look and feel of the phone or B) Internal Specs.

I have an HTC Legend and was toying wiht the idea of moving to the Samsung Galaxy S 2 for ages HOWEVER, i feel there is most probably something looming round the corner very soon in the next 4-6 months which will surpass it.

Hope you find a good one :)
