Help me get ready...

So after reading every single review, watching all the youtube videos of the GS3, I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on the GS3 this weekend. I'm guessing the iPhone 5 leaks are all true and nothing really too cool. A few questions.

1) My primary concern is connectivity. I'm not too concerned with the LTE. Does anybody have any issues with wifi, more specifically wifi from an airport express? How is the GPS?

2) 32GB- are they in stores now? How much space does ICS and the bloatware take up? Any reports of shortages of the white GS3? Knowing my luck the 32GB will be available only in the Pebble Blue...

3) Build quality- any issues?

4) How slippery is this thing really? I've read a few reviews where people are genuinely frightened at dropping the phone since the plastic seems to be coated with Samsung's proprietary bacon grease.

5) Screen- how is it in the bright sun?

6) Does the iPhone headphone/microphone combo work with the GS3? Or does the headphones that the GS3 come with have a microphone as well? Or is there one available for the GS3? Not a big fan of bluetooth.

7) iTunes music- is it possible to play iTunes DRM music on the GS3?

Hopefully if the white GS3 is available, I will be reporting back on my new phone. This is the first Android phone I am really interested in.

wont be too in depth since it's late.

1. Coming from a droid incredible wifi is a lot better. Internet speeds are better/faster. That of course could be because of the faster processor. My range has increased a fair amount. On my incredible gps would take about 45 seconds to boot. On the gs3 that is not the issue. It literally takes about 3 seconds to get a connection and that's in my basement.

2. Can't really answer this without knowing which carrier you're on.

3. The reviews should've answered this. It is made out of plastic but it by no means feels cheap. I would feel bad putting a case on it but the case compliments it very well.

4. It is kinda slippery but with a decent case its fine.

5. My incredible suuuuckkkkeeed in the sun. I expected the same from the s3 but was pleasantly surprised. With about 40% brightness i was able to see about 75% of the screen in an extremely sunny day. I didnt bother to try it at any higher %'s because it was just to read a text. I'd imagine that with near full brightness you'd have no trouble.

6. Yes iphone buds/mic work. The stock earbuds that came with the s3 are complete garbage, but hey, they're free.. i guess lol.

7. I was able to put all my Itunes music no problemo. stock mp3 is pretty good. if not double twist is a good alternative.

I would really recommend this phone. awesome 3g/4g speeds. sexy form factor. awesome screen. battery life lasts the day and then some. etc. only quirks i have are

- there's no easy way to switch from 3g-4g.
- need a 3rd party software to put media on it.
- locked bootloader
thats all i can think of atm lol.

Checked the account and I do have an upgrade.

I'm with Verizon- just to make sure... I can expect the same bulletproof ability to call, use data? And the GPS is money along with the wifi?

My iPhone 4 can lock onto a signal fairly quickly and I don't have any issues with the rest of the above. I went through hell in NYC with the 3GS and forget Apple or Android, I just want a phone that works first of all!

I think I'm zeroing in on the Speck candy shell cases.
And if the battery life gives me trouble, I'm gonna invest in a Just Mobile Gum Pro. And get that toggle switch app for 4G/3G.

How is the New York Times app on Android?

Man I can't wait until this Sat!!!
Unless they sell out :(

ive heard that the candyshells are so difficult to put on and take off that it feels like youre about to snap your phone in half... but then some seem to love them. maybe they just neglect to mention it because they like the case otherwise. well, if youre buying from a good distributor, theres always returns :p

Thanks for the advice.

What can you store on the SD card? Any kind of files, but what about apps? The last time I had a Droid, if I remember correctly, they allowed apps to be stored on the SD card, but not all of them could be put onto the SD card. I think I'm gonna order the 32GB...

Switched from the Ip4 to the Verizon S3. It's great. Got the 32 in blue and a 32 Samsung Class 10 with an adapter. Put the adapter into my computer and downloaded all my music. I have a nice case on it. Forget who made it, but I also put a SGP nano shield on the front. You will especially enjoy the voice input on text and email. Smart stay is intermittent. I turned it off and use a program called KeepScreen(free). It keeps the app open that you want kept open. You can select any or all apps. I use it for my emails and weather, etc. Good luck. It is a very, very good phone.

I have read this elsewhere and just confirmed it on my T-Mo SIII. Ice Cream Sandwich has removed move to SD card feature... if you have root, I think you can use Titanium Backup, but that may make the app non-functional.

I would go with the s3. I think the s3 will look better then the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5 will have nothing against it. It is pretty slippery like they have said but with a case you fix that the batter is also good and this phone is fast. Compared to the 4s the s3 takes it out no questions.
