Help me make the jump to Android!

I'm currently an iPhone user, but it's dying and I'm pretty sure I voided the warranty a long time ago. I never liked itunes- it's time to make the jump:

I'm mostly looking for a fancy toy. I think a lot of devices will fit my needs: Runs on AT&T, Facebook, G+, plays video and music reliably, front camera, able to read PDFs.... I'm not sure I'm really narrowing the list yet.

I hated every second of using itunes. I hear android phones are completely drag and drop.

The final straw making me ditch my iphone is battery issues. I hate that I had to dismantle my whole phone to get the the battery. Most android phones have a battery door, right?

I'm a complete noob at this point, but I learn fast so I may quickly become an Android snob. So I'm looking for something with less bloatware and room for advancement.
I don't see a need of me to root a phone but I'd be quite willing to if I found one.

I've been eying the Samsung Galaxy II Skyrocket.
It looks like I'd pay AT&T about $150 for it. I noticed ads on this forum appear to have Amazon selling it for ~$60 What sorcery is this?
Not really worth it to me to wait for the Galaxy III.

Any other <$200 recommendations are welcome.

Also... Anyone know of an android phone that supports a cell phone strap? I like making my phone pretty. =P

In the general inquiry department, I'm not much of a texter... so I don't have a text plan, but I hate mentally keeping a tab of how much my texting friends are adding to my bill. I hear that Google Voice can seamlessly integrate with my android phone so that I can send and receive texts as if they were normal texts. Is this true?

I'm an open book! Advise me!

Hello and welcome to Android Forums. :)

You've come to the right place to ask these questions. :)
I think the Samsung galaxy S2 skyrocket would really fit your bill as well as the original S2 as well. Both have what you're looking for in a phone and they both have a front facing camera and they're dual-core, so that means they're both very fast and snappy phones. You can't go wrong with the Samsung galaxy S2 or the skyrocket version. Both have what you ask and the battery life is pretty good and will stay like that as long as you don't charge your phone too often. And yes, it has a battery door. ;)
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask them.

Glad to have ya aboard! :ciao:

Welcome to the Android world - very customizable and intuitive.
