Root Help me with a LG Volt ls740 on "TextNow"

Hello i currently have a Lg Volt rooted on 4.4.2, Im trying to get into custom roms! I need help that ive been trying to figure out before i do anything, My network is TextNow but its a MVNO connected to sprint, I just want help on how i could install a custom rom, i want a stable rom, also how do i get back on textnow i dont want to screw anything up!

I thought text now was just a texting and calling app that you could use over wifi or an existing data connection.
I would assume you just download the app and sign in.

Yes i bought the phone off textnow and its an app, Im just wondering which rom i should get and if you guy's could give me some threads that will help me installing roms for the first time!

What did you use to root yours??i just got mine from textnow and didnt update anything. What did you use? Towelroot wont work. Thanks if you could help!
