Help! Navigator/Locations auto booting

Ares0286

Lurker
Starting only a few days ago, Google Navigator/Locations will automatically boot up, even if the phone is locked. It prompts me that GPS is disabled, then if I enable it, it goes to the licensing menu. I have never downloaded maps previously, and I use google maps for any navigation, not having a need to use the Navigator.

It's leeching my battery, and I have no idea how to stop it. I can't link it to any application updates, as my last update was several days before this issue started happening.

Any ideas?

Depending of your phone you might have some kind of car dock app. So, tap Settings and uncheck Auto-launch.

If you haven't such a car dock then you might have look at phone's microUSB socket.
Note, the HTC navigation will be triggered from a coding of a car kits's microUSB plug.
It's a resistance between pins 4&5.

Dirt can be a resistance.
So, you might have a close look at your phone's microUSB socket and clean it with some pressured air.

If you think that your phone's microUSB is clean (and the microUSB connector of your charging cable too), you might try the little app 'Dock No-Op', free in Play Store.

Harry,

The Dock No-op has worked a treat. When I can get access to pressurised air, I'll give the USB a clean and remove the app and see if it fixes the problem.

Thanks for your help!
