Root Help, need to unlock my phone

Ok my mom cleans rented homes and she found a droid2 today and currently i have an lg ally i know nothing about this phone. When i turn it on it asks for e mail and password and has an emergency call button. So i need to figure out how to just factory reset it so i can use it. Any help on doin this would rock

if the phone was reported as stolen, it won't be able to activate on VZW's network anyway

curious, but shouldn't you try to get it back to the owner first?

Agreed, you should attempt to get it back to the owner. Beyond that if the phone was indeed reported stole or lost, VZW black lists the hardware numbers and that phone will not be able to be activate. If you were to exhaust all possible venues of returning it, then there's plenty of resource to bring back a phone to factory settings if you look in these boards.
