Help needed. How to make S3 Russia ready?

rdmption

Lurker
Looking to purchase a gift here in the US to be shipped overseas to Russia. I desperately need help because I have no idea what I need to make the phone functional in Russia.

I am aware that there is an international version of the S3. What exactly does that mean?

Is Russian (language) available on the S3?

Lastly, will the phone require any type of app or crack to enable it to work with their providers?

THANKS!

Youre gona have to buy the international gt-i9300 version. Dont know how easy thats gona be in US tbh. its not just a software or language thing, they have very different internals. A north american s3 wont work outside the continent
Id just send her the money tbh

Ok so I came across a Gt-i9300 (international) here in the states. I contacted the seller and he confirmed that it is indeed sim free and able to be used with any carrier. Is this accurate?

Is there anything I should look out for when examining the phone, along the lines of firmware?

Thanks

It should be cool man. You could flash firmware onto it for whatever part of russia or whatever its for

Cleaned up the thread a bit. Lets stay on topic for the OP. :)

As mentioned above, you'll need an international version of the phone in order to use it in Russia.

If you do end up purchasing an international phone here in the US for use in Russia, make sure to check back and let us know how it works.
