help needed to format memory card...

Guyz my phone doesnot get ON at one go when i switch it off.... So i am thinking to format the memory card... M using xperia x8 . The problm is when i am looking to take backup.... Its nt shwng any option of memory card foldr on pc... As a result i have to check each foldr individually to take up backup.... Is there any way through whřch i can create backup of memory card at one go ?

When you plug it in, did you get any notification at the top? Then did you pull down the notification bar & choose from the USB connection menu?
