Help needed with a decent notes/notepad app

Hi Guys,

Looking for a decent notepad app that allows me to catagorize the notes. Let me elaborate. I have a small sales team (5 people) all of which, obviously, have various things going on all the time. Different deals, products, customers, queries and also general personnel issues and admin. I have spent the last 10 years or so using a small pocket notebook with a different page for each rep and it is a system that has worked well for me. As I dealt with each rep or an item on their "page" I would cross it off and then move on. I'd also use it for "any other business" items if we had a few moments to kill, to serve as a prompt for me to remind staff about various things.
All of the notebook apps that I have seen seem to be far more long winded.
I'd like to open the App, tap the name of the person who I'm dealing with and be presented with that persons "list"

Help me to throw away the pen and notebook in my pocket ;)

I use Mobisle Notes Free. I have a separate note for each day of the week and within each of those a checklist of things to do. I can check them off when they're done.
 
Evernote must have internet access to retrieve information, data not stored natively.

I use AK Notepad. AK Notepad and 3banana notes sync with catch.com account so data is always backed up. It does not however have categories. It does have tagging which may work in your case better than categories. Just use a # followed by whatever tag you want in the note and you will have that note tagged.

r an app that would do both notes and to do lists. It's a decent program...still needs a some improvement but it does what it intends to do.
 
I just tried Wiki Notes it would work well its super simple you could put the workers name with more than one capital letter in it (name must be 4 letters or larger ex: BrAd) and it would create another note and you just click on the name to go to it i just wish there was a notepad out there to make links to other notes like this without the capital letter stuff
 
SpringPad has been growing on me more and more lately. Mainly due to the snail pace Evernote Devs seem to be taking with the Evernote app for Android. Key features like offline reading is still not available for Evernote Android.

SpringPad has a really nice app for Android. Take the tour on their website and check it out. I especially like how it integrates with Google Tasks.

I've recommended Springpadit before, but would caution against it at the moment. I loved how I could type notes on my Evo or my computer, and they synced up automatically so I could access them any time on both my phone and computer.

BUT, I can no longer log into the Springpadit website because it keeps on telling me I have an "invalid username" or password. I know my username and password are correct because I have 2 different password keepers that I use.

I have tons of notes, and I will have to copy and paste them from my Evo to something else now, maybe Evernote. :mad:
 
Catch Notes is very good as well, has a great widget and syncs to and from a website version of the app. You can PIN lock the app to prevent others opening it, you can add pictures, barcodes or sound recordings to the notes and its free.

I have great luck w/ Mobisle Notes and highly recommend it. I wish it had a widget, but otherwise I couldn't ask for much more (other than the ability to drag check list items into whatever order I wanted after they were created.)

I contacted Springpad about my problem, and they fixed it the next day and I haven't had any more issues.

They also reveamped their online site and made it more user-friendly. One of the things I like about it more than Evernote is that if a note in Evernote has a hyperlink, I can't modify it on my Evo. I can append to it, but I can't modify it. Springpad doesn't care if you are on your phone or internet, you can click on a link and it will jump to that internet page, and you can edit that note on your phone.

Actually, that is if the note is a clickable hyperlink, I can't edit it on my Evo. If it is a plain text link, then I can edit it on my Evo, but to go to a link in a note, you have to copy and paste that URL, which is not user-friendly.

This is a rich text note and can not be edited on your phone. You can either append the changes to this note or create a plain text copy of the note and the original will be moved to the trash.

Springpad has no problems having a hyperlink in its notes, and once saved, you can pick the link and it will jump to that web page. That makes Springpad superior for my uses.

as a note, and when I view that note and click the link, it will take me to this thread. If I want to edit it, no problem.

Edit: forum automatically cleaned up hyperlink, had to use code tags instead.
 
Been using springpad for about a month now and have found that once your head gets around the complicated (for me lol ) layout (Notes are what I'd call folders and tasks are what I'd call notes plus a few other americanisms) it's a good ttol. Google Chrome has a good little extension too which helps :D
