help needed with notification bar

i keep getting a hourly notification in the notification bar advising me of a new app .When i tap on this it opens up the android market showing a app availaible for dowload.Any one have a idea how i can stop this hourly notification ?

From the main Market screen, tap Options > Settings, and then uncheck Notifications. HTH!

Sounds to me like you've got an app that's using Airpush, Leadbolt or something similar to push ads to your notification bar. For more info, including how to identify and remove the offending app(s), see:

Thanks used airpush detector app to find the offending ap which i removed and this hopefully seems to have solved the problem
