To be honest, every phone has its bugs and every company sells faulty phones (not on purchase but it's just law of averages), Samsung will be no different.
Also, forums are generally there to help people with problems so you tend to find that most posts of forums like this will be about problems, the Samsung forum will be exactly the same and most probably has in the past.
I've had no problems with my HOX whatsoever and I'd imagine there's loads of other people that haven't too, it's just too hard to say don't get this phone and wait for another one because there's no way to tell if the SGS3 will be any better in those departments.
The best and only way in my opinion is to get a phone that you like (like the HOX) and try it out, if it works then it works, if it doesn't and there's no fix (which HTC have been releasing pretty quickly) then try another phone.
Touching back on that point, the HOX has been out for a little while now and HTC has released two new firmwares already, if you have problems with your Samsung then you'd have to wait a little while for the updates to fix the problems, HTC is way ahead of Samsung in that race at the moment because it has already released the phone.
