Hi

I am having problems with netflix on my nexus 7 (2013) tablet. The tablet is only a couple of months old.

When I start streaming videos on netflix after about 10 minutes the video freezes and then I get error code 12001.

Netflix works fine on my motorola zoom tablet on the same wifi connection. I have tried tethering the Nexus to my phone and get the same thing when tethered - so it doesn't look like it is an issue with my network/internet connection.

I have removed netflix from the tablet and reinstalled it. It seemed to work for about a day or so and then the problem came back.

Anyone got any ideas?

According to netflix support, you should be able to clear data & cache to rememdy that. Settings | Apps | Netflix and you should see the option there.

Wouldn't reinstalling the app have cleared the cache and app data anyway?

No necessarily. I've found legacy junk leftover from apps long ago uninstalled. I checked a few other places and folks have said that clearing cache on the app has fixed the problem.

Exactly. I "found" GIGS of junk left over by not clearing the cache BEFORE uninstalling.

One of those things that should be on the box.... or give the option during uninstalls.

Streaming apps, apps you have to log in to, web browsers, etc are all examples of apps that leave junk.
And games that download extra files.... thos extra files stay behind. Ugh...
