Help [Help]No Android Launcher

SamFire5

Lurker
Hello I am a new member of this forum and i have problems with my android tablet. My android tablet is a Viewsonic Viewpad 7e. The problem is that i have been messing around with root explorer and accidentally deleted both of my launchers (yeah i know i am stupid :P). Now, I can't get onto my tablet and cannot do anything (BTW i did a system factory reset before this problem happen). I got into recovery me to install an update, restore to factory settings and wipe cache partition but these are the errors:
Recovery System version for VS: v1.9
boot flag = 1
enter OTA update mode.
E: Can't find update package
E: Can't find update package
Update error.

PLEASE HELP ME! :(
Can I root the viewpad 7e? Yes, with Gingerbreak 1.2
Can I manually install Google Marketplace? Yes, but some apps refuse to install.
Can I enter into recovery mode? Yes. Hold power and volume up works, timing is needed. But pressing power + volume up + volume down DOES NOT work.
Can I use adb shell? No and maybe because it says "error:device not found"
PLEASE HELP ME!

Welcome to three forum SamFire5 and thanks for joining.

To get your device up and running in again you will need to flash some firmware which will reinstall the stock launcher. I'm not really familiar with your tablet so I'll move the thread to your devices forum where someone should be able to give you some more specific advice.

Does your tablet still have your Google account login stored in it? Is there anyway you could get it on there, like factory reset again and hope that the set up app pops up again? Because if you can just get your account to log in, you can go to play.google.com and download a new launcher via the web browser and use that. ADW, Go Launcher, Launcher Pro, etc. Doesn't even need to be a paid one. That'll get you up and running, at the least, until you can find a ROM to put on the device.

I would also contact your manufacturer to see if they will give you the firmware/software on CD or download link. I'm sure they have an OTA you can manually install.

no jerofld, my tablet doesn't have my google account on it if i never restore to factory settings in the first place, this wouldn't happen.

I want to say thank you to Shotgun84 for fixing my tablet that i have been trying to fix for days! I love you (no homo if your a guy)! xD

No problem mate although I can't really take the credit. It was iowabotech who found the link, I just passed the info on he gave me. I'm glad you're sorted.
