Help Help no pounds sterling sign.

Hey all, I know I'm slow and probably missed something but I don't seem to have a pound (sterling) sign on the standard HTC key pad.
I've set the keyboard layout in settings to English UK but it's still not there, anyone know how to fix it.

press the key "12#" on the main keyboard to go to symbols, and then press key "1/2" (left bottom corner) and you should see the sterling key...
