Help HELP! Phone dead :-(

Im pretty sure i know the only solution to this problem but thought i'd ask anyway,

this morning my phone just died, wont turn on at all.
LED doesnt even come on when plugged into the charger.

Did i read something in a thread somewhere about a way to start the phone up in safe mode or something? thought i might try that

otherwise its going back to the shop this lunchtime,

luckily i had fully backed the phone up yesterday as i was planning to send it off to get the screen repaired today,

For to put the phone in Save Mode you'll need HTC's boot screen for to act with the Volume button down.
So, with a dead phone it isn't possible ;)

Did you try to press the Power button for more than 10 sec (to simulate a battery pull) and then to start the phone again?

Well damn,

i thought i had held it down for the full 10 seconds to try that this mornin and got nothing,

however just tried it again and it worked and started up!

Maybe I'll need to do this for my One X too ... someday ...

I was not lucky when this happened a few days ago. HTC servcie informed me it is hardware failure. Though I got a replacement, I am a bit worried will this recurr.

I had this problem only one time with my One X, and after multiple times of pressing the power button nothing happened. When I plugged it into the power charger, and then removed it, I pressed it down for around 5 secs and it voila! It turned on.

This same issue happened with my Desire HD a couple of times. I had even remove the battery and re-insert it just to turn it on. This issue is not satisfying to me, but I will continue to hope I never see it again.
 
My ONE X died today. This comes just two weeks after getting a replacement and three months after buying the ONE X. It is the most unreliable phone that I have owned.
Contemplating what to get next.
