Guys is there any other way for unlocking the sim network except buying its unlock code online ? i wanna sim unlock my photon 4g. i can't use my phone here in the philippines..

Last I heard the only way to do it was to contact Sprint and ask nicely. I've never tried, though.

If you are looking to use the the Sprint Photon outside the U.S. your best option is to go with a local GSM provider. The Sprint Photon has no SIM lock for GSM providers outside the U.S.. Certain non-Sprint Photon's MAY be GSM SIM locked (I do not believe this to be true) otherwise the GSM SIM unlock service is bogus.

To the best of my knowledge nobody has been successful getting a SIM unlock from Sprint or Motorola. The SIM lock also only applies U.S. carriers GSM carriers.

There've been a few people that have used the Photon, outside of the US with a local SIM, without having to purchase an "unlock code."

That said, I'm hoping there's a way to do it in the PI without going through the hassle. I may be going back to visit family soon and was hoping I could use the Photon as my dedicated international phone.
