Help Help, Play Store not opening

Every time I try and press the. Playstore on my homescreen, it acts like it is opening then it closes without warning and goes right back home.
Could it be and app I have downloaded or is my phone "defective"

Have you tried clearing the cache and data via Settings - Apps - All - Play - Clear Cache/Data
