Help Help please, Go Launcher problems

I installed Go Launcher onto the Fire and now I'm stuck with the screen asking to "complete action using" with Go Launcher or Launcher as the options. The problem is that the screen is unresponsive so I can't get past it. I sideloaded this app, have not rooted it. I'm not even sure what to do at this point to get past this screen or to even get it working again. Any thing you can offer would be much appreciated. Thank you. David

You could try holding the power button down for 20 seconds and wipe everything from the Fire and see if that works.

I have tried that, several times. No go. I keep getting the option to choose a launcher but it doesn't respond. The screen goes black, but not off, after a few minutes. Not sure what else to do.

Same thing here. I called Amazon & told them what happened & they are sending a replacement at no charge.

What happens if you connect it to the computer? Maybe if you let the batter die it'll be ok after reboot? Never had this problem. I side loaded ex launcher without rooting initially and it worked ok.

Im having the same problem with Go Launcher EX. Whenever I boot the kindle using GLEX, it hangs at a perpetual black screen. The tablet does eventually lock itself, however, and I can slide the screen to unlock it... But after that, its still just a black screen.

Also, if I activate GLEX while the default fire launcher is running, the kindle freezes at the home menu and I cannot interact with anything except the running processes. In the top left, if I touch that area, there is a notification that the system has encountered an error and to report it to amazon.

If I force the system to shutdown, I can just reboot with the default kindle fire launcher without a hitch, but Go Launcher does not work.

Ive also tried using the MarketOpener.apk, but it force closes as soon as it opens.

I've had zero problems with Go Launcher installed. The only problem I have is the wallpaper changes back to the standard wallpaper that it comes with after going into sleep mode. All my icons and the dock stays the same but wallpaper changes. Hopefully there can be a fix for that soon.

Called Amazon and they are going to swap it out. I had done an online chat earlier to no avail. The 20 sec reboot was what they suggested but nothing other than that. Called customer service and they immediately said they would send me a new unit.

Spent days trying to fix this exact same problem, first educating myself on what and how, and then eventually being able to follow the directions in the post I linked to below, but man am I very very relieved now. Now I don't know how to get market without risking the same thing happening again, but I am for sure staying far away from Go Launcher EX. Also, since I live in Europe I can't DL anything at all from app store, so rooting and market is somewhat essential and would have never bought it I that can't be an option, so still hopeful but also nervous about tampering with this. Good luck dude. Registered just to let you know, though this site seems useful for lots of other reasons too.

Adso3000,
Thanks for the update, I appreciate your input. I ended up taking the easy route and swapped it out for a new one with Amazon. They were amazingly easy to deal with on this issue. I even told them it was my own doing but they seemed to have no problem with that. Have the new one now and back to normal. I would really like to get a new launcher on it but think I will wait until it's a little more stable. Thanks again.

i had this problem too. had to open KF on computer to del. the go explorer.apk, then i installed Go explorer EX v. 2.79 (Final). this version works flawlessly with the KF. I love having my e-reader now looks and feel more like a full droid tablet. GOOD LUCK!!

No problems for me either. I love GO Launcher! Now back onto your question. It'll probably be your best bet to go in and run KFU(Kindle Fire Utility) and run the installer process along with the rooter and GO Launcher installation from there too. Make sure to also install TWRP so you can back up your kindle and restore it to the stat it was in before something had happened.
