Help Please with Stopping Notifications from Muting or Lowering Volume.

I want notification sounds to be on all the time, but I don't want it to mute or lower the volume down what I'm watching or listening to, is there anyway the notification sound will still play without muting or lowering the volume of what I'm watching or listening to? There seems to be no settings for it on my realme 5 phone.

it kind of defeats having a notification sound. i never saw a reason to look for something like that other then turning down the sound when i watch something.

Thank you. Another question, would it consume energy when an automation app is left on without doing anything, like when waiting for a trigger?
