Help help pls! Phone storage space getting low, text message memory full

Need some desperate help.

Have the warning message "phone storage space getting low"

Have 11G of 14 on SD card, but only 25MB free on internal phone storage.

Just got a text message that wouldnt come thru, and it said 'no text message space left'.

Just uninstalled somethings that were 10MB, now giving me 35MB free but

I keep getting texts, the phone vibrates , which it wasn't set to do, and says 'text memory full'. I am assuming it is vibrating to give me a warning.

Can I clear some of the text memory, or must I clear all of it. And if so for either, how do I do this.

I have moved apps to sd card that makes sense.

How can I free up more space.
 
Do you have an absurd amount of texts in your inbox? and also to clear up some space on your phone move some apps that can to the sd card.
 
I don't text that much. But what i found in the text message setting was that I didn't have 'delete old messages' checked. And I had a limit of 200 messages per conversation, and was at 203 messages for this person who was sending to me. I checked the delete old messages, and started getting them from him. I think this did trick, but what still bothers me is that I have another person who has (470) next to his name, which I think means 470 messages, but I have never had this problem?

Do you think my error was from too many texts, or not enough total memory?
 
Thanks for that tip. After moving apps, unistalling some, and clearing out cache data, I now have a much bigger problem.

I can't send email to my exchange server, it says no security settings, weatherbug won't load, keeps trying but nothing is happening, gmail won't load my messages. I have pulled the battery for a hard reset.

Any ideas. Does clearing cached data mess these things up? Do I need to reload and re install apps?
 
I'm also getting the phone system memory is low message and the text message memory is low message, but I have 22MB left in phone memory storage. I also have Delete Old Messages checked in text message settings. I moved some apps to SD card and that fixed both problems, but I don't understand why I'm getting these errors with 22MB left. What is that 22MB being used for? It seems totally useless. Please anyone let me know so I don't have to unnecessarily delete apps or texts.
 
Common misconception - storage =/= memory

Does your notification say you're low on storage space? Or are you getting not enough memory to run an app? if you're receiving a low storage space, that's normal - anytime you dip under 25 MB you get that warning and it will not go away until you free up some storage space.

And, FWIW, clearing out caches does not alter settings of apps.
