i downloaded a leaked version on gingerbread 2.3 and now i want to go back to froyo 2.2 so i can get the official update of gingerbread how can i do that?

Cant you just restore to factory settings? Never flashed my phone so not sure

nah it doesn't it will keep the 2.3 version

It's an absolute pain. You have to down grade the bootloader as well, which means you need to grab a version of froyo or eclair than contains the older bootloader. Is there a reason why you absolutely have to upgrade through Kies?

Managed to find a non-samfirmware.com mirror for the necessary firmware (all the new firmwares on samfirmware are now hosted on hotfile, and I hate hotfile with a passion).

How to Flash A Gingerbread XWJVB 2.3.3 back to Stock Froyo 2.2.1 - xda-developers

Instructions are on the fifth post, download mirrors are on the 6th post. Follow the instructions. Afterwards you are free to flash any other firmware using Odin (you need JPU for the Froyo bootloader. Not all firmware version includes the bootloader, and flashing standalone bootloader files are dangerous)
