I am new to android, having gotten a tablet 2 months ago and a smart phone yesterday. I've never synced anything as I find the process confusing.
On my tablet I had found a list application I liked a great deal-- MindList.
Now I want the same application on my android phone (motorola droid 4) and, of course, the same lists. The creator has stated he won't be adding sync because of lack of interest, but I discovered I can send a backup via email from my tablet, where I have several lists.
So I sent a backup of MindList through my gmail account and opened it on my phone, thinking I could just download the attachment, which is a .db file, save it, and then go into mindlist on my phone and use the restore function to navigate to the .db file.
The problem is, when I use the gmail app to go to the email and I download the attachment, it doesn't let me save the attachment as a .db file anywhere. It only lets me open the .db in a browser, as an HTML document, or as a txt document. I'm not sure what to do to make this attachment accessible to mindlist on my ohone so I can use it to restore my lists.
I think this is a function I will need to learn for a variety of reasons-- how do I simply save an attachment from an email, to my phone's storage?
Any assistance will be appreciated!
