So I have been trying for weeks to find a program I can download on my computer to root my Straight Talk Zte Merit 990g... Can someone please please help me???

Also does anyone know a downloadable program to update android from 2.3 to a new verizon??

Most phones built for 2.3 don't have enough ROM/RAM/CPU for newer versions of Android. You'd end up with a slower, laggier phone.

Run Kingo on any Android phone. If it can't find an exploit to use for that phone, it'll just tell you nicely and exit with no harm done.
