I've been reading from the forum on how to root my phone. I am having a lot of problems though. All the download links are broken on every method I have found. Can anyone help me?

you have not read all the threads then
for 2.3.4 root with pete's root tools
for 2.3.5 root with magic md5 root
all DX2 roms are flashed on 2.3.4, except eclipse which is flashed on 2.3.5
so if you want a custom rom, you likely need to flash 2.3.4 sbf first
