Root Help Rooting Nook Color Locally?

Hi! I live around Cleveland, Ohio and my problem is that for every card I've bought to try to attempt this rooting feat, it seems to never work on my computer, I always get an error of different kinds when it's time to write the stuff on the sd card manually.

Is there anyone locally that would be willing to help me out ?

in a very worst case scenario you can buy a card online set to root your Nook for you. If you're using Win7 you may have issues with the image software to make it bootable. I actually used a WinXp to get it to work.

Colchiro has a great writeup and helped me through a few rough spots as well.

If you can't find anyone local you could probably mail me your SD card, I can image it for you and send it back.

Your problem sounds like it might be your usb adapter or card slot.

If you're using a usb hub, try it without.

Do you NEED a sdcard install or is that the easy way out? (ie. do you read books a LOT?)
