I am very new to the S4 just got it new a few weeks ago. Its a VW prepaid like yours with the same build. I am using it on ATT (dont ask) so I want to get back to a stock rom so I can setup phone to work better on ATT and get rid of Verizon bloat.

I have only rooted 1 phone 3 years ago was a S3 on Straight Talk. I am by no means a techie as I bricked the S3 by using a root that was faulty before finding a proven method, was costly.
So I am very leery of doing this but if you did it would you be willing to lay out the method for me letting me know steps and files and programs to use. I know I am asking a lot but I have searched for a week and your post so far is the only one I could find that seems to be a successful root. Most I read said it could not be done because of Knox or there was just nothing on the prepaid versions.
Thanks in Advance if you can help.

OK again I have verizon prepaid but this is what I did " I used odin 3.10 version if u don't know what that is Google it you will find it download that to pc save it then Google oc1 kernel for galaxy s4 I found this on XDA developers site save that where u can get to it easily on pc documents is what I used then open odin 3.10 put phone in download mode power button volume down and home hols all three until you get the green android then volume up your in download mode connect phone to pc using usb cable when this is done pc should recognize phone in top left corner of odin now on the right side of odin screen you will see a button check that press next to that check to add a file so check that navigate to documents or wherever you saved oc1 kernel you downloaded add the oc1 kernel by clicking on it and at the bottom of the screen click open that should take you back to odin screen it will check md5 sum and after that it should show the file in the ap slot on the right side of odin screen at this point you can click start on the bottom of odin screen and it shouldn't take long then your phone will reboot and it will have the earlier oc1 kernel from there I used kingroot apk u can find it just Google download it to your phone open and install it may say u need to change something in settings go ahead and allow the install open kingroot and it may say root unavailable but I tried anyway and it worked for me I've done another s4 the same way just the other day and it still worked this will get you root after that any more questions just ask changing kinguser to superuser is not neccasary but if u want you can Google swap kinguser for superuser and find that info hope this helps and I take no credit for any of this I found all the info on XDA or another forum and just to let you know I'm not a techie or a developer you can use this at your own risk I take no responsibility If something goes wrong but just in case it does I would download the stock of1 firmware from XDA or another forum just in case something goes wrong again I hope this helps and good luck
