i installed the aopk rom, on jellybean 4.1.0 onto the mobile via recorvery mode.

IT CRASHED ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH.

the site i downloaded off, i followed instructions perfectly, except for wiping mobile before.

it said this rom works fine with my s2, just the uk version, 2 years old currently on gingerbread 4.0.4

I am afraid that if your phone will not even turn on or go into Download or Recovery mode, (see videos in post #2, here), then the options, here, are useless and that you have bricked your phone.

This will require a replacement of your phone's motherboard. :(

ok had a look at your links, but none seem to show whats wrong with my mobile.

http://androidforums.com/galaxy-s2-...s-root/562428-has-your-gs2-got-brick-bug.html

this seems most relevent seeing as it wont boot or anytthing.

the guy trying to mend my mobile said he has tryied a few patches, but nothing has worked.
if i backed up everything before with cmw, is there any way to restore it all with that via computer or something?

so how did the guy mending your phone try a few patches if the phone wont boot into recovery or download ?

Just out of curiosity what were you on before you flashed the custom ROM

If it will not boot at all then I fear, as Ironass has already said, that your phone is a gonner.

Was the battery fully charged when you tried to flash (I think most people recommend at least 80%) Just wondering if it died whilst flashing the radio.

Also, as per your first post, you could not have been on Gingerbread 4.0.4. Gingerbread is Android 2. 4.0.4 is Ice Cream sandwich.

i have no idea how he tryed it.
i was on stock gingerbread, fully updated to 4.0.4 gingerbread.

yes it was, but i think my mobile froze, so i started to press all the buttons cos of me being annoyed, it then sped up for a bit, then crashed and turned off. :( :banghead:

my os said it was android 4.0.4, but the rom themes looked like the gingerbread one, not the funky blue ics.

clicking on the android version showed the ics logo tho. if that helps :l

also, it is the uk version, and i was trying to upgrade it to andriod 4.1

The, "brick bug", does not affect stock Gingerbread, Android 2.3.x, or CF-Root, Siyah, Dorimanx, PhilZ or Jeboo kernels. Only stock ICS, Android 4.0.x, and JB, Android 4.1.x, kernels are affected if you attempt to wipe or Factory reset in CWM, (ClockworkMod), Recovery. This will effectively, "fry", the motherboard and requires a replacement

so the only way to mend my phone would be to replace the motherboard?
how easy would that be to do? how much would it cost?

either way, it isnt looking good for my mobile :'(

If you have, "bricked", your phone and require a motherboard replacement, this would be a job for a competent engineer with specialist knowledge and tools... such as a Samsung Service Point. Cost including parts and labour... circa
